Travel insurance for Australia
Whether it’s for the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, the majesty of Ayers Rock, the bustling cities of Sydney and Melbourne or the endless stretches of the outback, Australia has become a favourite destination for many UK travellers. Then there are those who travel there to visit friends and relatives. Whatever the reason for wanting to go, cheaper air travel has made Australia eminently more accessible than before.
Indeed, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), in 2005 some 272,000 UK residents went to Australia on holiday, and 302,000 visited friends and relatives.
If you need travel insurance for Australia, Direct Line can offer you a number of options. If your visit is for up to 90 days (42 days if over 60 years old) and you aren’t planning any other foreign travel, you can take out single trip travel insurance. If you are going for fewer than 42 days, but will be travelling elsewhere in the year, then there is our annual travel insurance (maximum age is 74 years old). Alternatively, if you intend to be travelling around Australia for over 91 days or if you plan to include it as a stop over on a trip of longer than 91 days, then our Discoverer policy may be right for you as it allows cover of up to 365 days in Europe or 550 days worldwide (maximum age is 54 years old).
All these policies include activities such as surfing and snorkelling, while the Discoverer policy includes other activities such as scuba diving to 18m and even one bungee jump.
You can get a travel insurance quote online in minutes and, if you buy online, you will receive an instant discount.
